Heinrich Wilhelm Dove (lawyer)
Heinrich Wilhelm Dove (born December 11, 1853 in Berlin ; † March 3, 1931 ibid) was a German lawyer and member of the German Reichstag .
Life
Dove was the son of the physicist Heinrich Wilhelm Dove of the same name and attended the Joachimsthalsche and Friedrich-Werdersche Gymnasium in Berlin and from 1872 to 1875 the universities of Göttingen , Heidelberg and Berlin . Afterwards he was a trainee lawyer in Altlandsberg and Berlin, a court assessor in Schneidemühl and Münster , a district judge in Rogasen and from 1884 to 1898 a district judge and judge in Frankfurt am Main . From 1899 he was the syndic of the elders of the Berlin merchants and then of the Chamber of Commerce. He was a deputy member of the district committee in Wiesbaden and since 1902 a city councilor in Berlin. He was also an employee of several political and scientific journals and newspapers as well as the author of political writings and legal commentaries.

From 1903 to 1918 Dove was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of Merseburg 2 Schweinitz , Wittenberg, as a member of the Liberal Association . In 1918, Dove was one of the majority of MPs who campaigned for women's suffrage . Between 1912 and 1918 he was Vice President of the Reichstag and from 1926 to 1930 a deputy member of the State Council of Prussia.
He is buried in the St. Marien and St. Nikolai Cemetery I in Berlin-Pankow.
