Heinz Plöger

Heinz Plöger (born July 12, 1929 in Züsedom ; † December 26, 2002 in Frankfurt (Oder) ) was a German FDJ and SED functionary. From 1955 to 1957 he was chairman of the pioneer organization Ernst Thälmann and then an SED functionary in the Frankfurt (Oder) district .

Life

Plöger was born on July 12, 1929 as the son of a farm laborer in Züsedom. After completing elementary school from 1936 to 1944, he attended a teacher training college in Cottbus until the end of the war. Then Plöger returned to his parents' new farm. There and on an estate administered by the Soviets, he worked as a farm worker and coachman until April 1947. During this time he became a member of the Antifa youth of the Pasewalk district. In 1947, Plöger became a children's group leader in his home town of Züsedom and at the same time was appointed instructor of the FDJ district leadership in Prenzlau . A short time later he became FDJ district chairman in the Prenzlau district, which he remained until 1950. During this time, Plöger became a member of the SED in January 1948. In 1950 the FDJ entrusted him with the post of 1st secretary of the FDJ district leadership Spremberg , in 1951 he was delegated to the Brandenburg state party school in Schmerwitz near Wiesenburg / Mark . After completing his studies, Plöger worked as an instructor for the SED state leadership in Brandenburg in 1952, before taking over the management of the culture department of the newly created SED district leadership in Frankfurt (Oder) in August 1952 . In 1954 he changed to an instructor brigade of the Central Committee of the SED , responsible for the Frankfurt (Oder) district. At the fifth parliament of the FDJ in May 1955 in Erfurt, Plöger was elected as a member of the central council, in which he worked as secretary until 1957. Plöger joined the Secretariat of the Central Council as chairman of the pioneering organization Ernst Thälmann. He replaced Margot Honecker. Plöger was presented to the public for the first time in this function at the 2nd Pioneer Meeting from August 12 to 18, 1955 in Dresden. His term of office was short, however, in 1957 he was replaced by Robert Lehmann as chairman. Plöger initially remained in the pioneer organization and until 1960 held the office of secretary for cadres of the central management of the pioneer organization. Then he was delegated by the SED to a three-year course until August 1963 at the Karl Marx party college . He completed this course as a social scientist. After that, Plöger initially occupied the post of 1st Secretary of the Frankfurt (Oder) district management of the GDR Cultural Association . It was not until 1967 that he was given a party function again. Initially until 1968, Plöger was secretary for agitation and propaganda of the SED district leadership in Frankfurt (Oder).

He then moved to the SED district leadership in Frankfurt (Oder), where he initially headed the science, popular education and culture department until February 1969. Subsequently, Plöger was appointed as the successor to Hans-Joachim Hertwig as Secretary for Science, Public Education and Culture in the district management. As one of thirteen members of the secretariat of the SED district leadership, he was promoted to the top management group in the Frankfurt (Oder) district. In June 1988 he handed over the departments of science and popular education to Rosemarie Bischoff, but remained secretary for culture in the SED district leadership. During the turn of peaceful revolution , he joined on 15 November 1989 and was one back until December 1989 the county council Frankfurt (Oder) as a deputy to. During the last legislative period from 1986 onwards he was chairman of the standing commission on socialist education and vocational training. He took early retirement and became a retiree in 1994. Plöger remained a party member and thus also became a member of the PDS . At times he was involved in the working group for agitation and education of the PDS district committee in Frankfurt (Oder). In 1991 he was also a member of the spokesman's council for the Society for the Protection of Civil Rights and Human Dignity
