Heinz Planitzer (born July 20, 1968 in Admont ) is a former Austrian duathlete and winter triathlete .

Career

Between 1988 and 2005, Heinz Planitzer was national champion in running, duathlon and winter triathlon several times.

Third European Championship Winter Triathlon 2008

At the European Winter Triathlon Championships he was third in February 2008 and fourth at the World Championships three weeks later.
Together with Sigi Bauer and Werner Uran, he became team world champion in 2008.

As one of the favorites for the World Championship, he had to retire from competitive sports in August 2009 after a torn Achilles tendon .

Planitzer lives in Admont , is now active as a trainer and looks after the triathletes Lisa Hütthaler (since 2011) and Sina Hinteregger , among others .
