The Hellenbach is an orographic right and southern tributary of the Ahr in Rhineland-Palatinate ( Germany ), almost eight kilometers long .

The Hellenbach carries the name Löhndorfer Bach in the upper reaches , it is also shown on some maps as Kuhbach .

The Hellenbach rises about two kilometers north of Königsfeld . The source lies at an altitude of approx. 291  m above sea level. NHN . From here the stream flows northeast, reaches Vehn Castle and crosses under the A 61 motorway . It continues its way to the northeast and flows through the Sinzig district of Löhndorf . From here it accompanies the Kreisstraße 44 to the local district Westum , where it takes up the brook from the Gerhardshof . It swings to the north and flows in Sinzig into the Rhine tributary Ahr coming from the west .

Catchment area and tributaries

The 11.7 km² catchment area drains via the Ahr and Rhine to the North Sea .
