Hellmuth ground pond

Hellmuth Bodenteich (* May 1921 in Pachfurth ; † October 10, 2014 ) was an Austrian painter and graphic artist who lived in Traun .

education

His artistic work began during his captivity as a prisoner of war, initially with graphically dominated landscape paintings , occasionally also figural sketches, and later abstract works, mostly without a title, which require the viewer to grasp emotionally.

From 1954 he was a student of Heinz Bruno Gallée , continued his education in Vienna (Hueberhaus in the Vienna Woods) with Gerhard Swoboda , Robert Schmitt , Hans Stockbauer and Fred Nowak until 1962, and between 1987 and 1989 he attended bi-weekly seminars with Hans Staudacher in Sigharting Castle . In several study trips to Greece , Tuscany and Sicily , he built a strong relationship with landscapes.

He made his works in oil , tempera , watercolor , collage and mixed media. He passed on his skills as a course instructor at various adult education centers . Bodenteich was a member of the Upper Austrian Artists Association .

• Gold Medal of Merit of the Republic of Austria (1986)
• Culture Medal of the Province of Upper Austria (1994)
• 1st prize in the graphics competition of Wiener Städtische Versicherung (1994)
• Culture Medal of the City of Traun (2001)
• Medal of Merit of the Province of Upper Austria (2001)
