Helmut Vakily

Helmut Vakily (born April 2, 1938 in Konstanz ) is a German poet , painter , graphic artist and draftsman .

Life

Vakily, who lived in Tehran between 1939 and 1949 , studied book graphics and painting at the Werkkunstschule Dortmund with Max Guggenberger and Gustav Deppe , at the Freie Kunstschule Stuttgart and the State Academy of Stuttgart between 1954 and 1961 after his return to the Federal Republic of Germany Fine arts Stuttgart . During this time he was one of the students of Paul König , Rudolf Müller , Walter Brudi and Manfred Henninger .

In 1958 he created the Design for the play The Power of Max Halbe in a staging by Vera Danne House at Stuttgart Youth Theater. After a study trip to Collioure in the Pyrenees and graduating, he settled in Munich in 1961 .

Vakily, whose work as a painter, graphic artist and draftsman was exhibited at the Von der Heydt Museum in Wuppertal in 1969 , founded the Authors Gallery 1 in Munich in 1977 , which combines exhibitions of contemporary art with author readings and in which Vakily's pictures were also exhibited.

Since 1992 he has also worked as a poet and has published, among other things, the two volumes of poetry Not always you find a place (1997) and At this time - in this place (2003). In addition, his poems such as "Für Dich", "Nach dem Fest" and "Nackt" also appeared in the Wandler magazine for literature .

His more well-known works include the series Raum- und Flugzeltbilder with works such as Over the blue sky (1985), Flugzelt (1989), Flugzelt über Weiß und Grau (1989), Ausflug nach Cassis (1989), Ausflug mit Simone (1989), Flugzeit Indigo I (1989), Raum- und Flugzelt (1998), but also the later works Growing Affection (2008), Durchblick (2008), Im Dunkel und im Licht II (2008), Raum- und Flugzelt über den Wolken (2008) .
