The Hengersberger Ohe is a 26 km long river with the official upper course under 34 km long in the Bavarian Forest , which flows from the left and northwest into the Danube at Markt Winzer .

etymology

The multiple occurrence of the basic word Ohe of the water body name is derived from the old high German aha for river , like the more common water body components Ache or -bach . The largest flowed through place provided the determining word.

geography

Spring streams

The Hengersberger Ohe flows near Kaußing in the municipality of Lalling from the right, shorter but more catchment-rich Ranzinger Bach , also known as the Perlbach , which is the main upper course, and the left Gneistinger Bach .

The Ranzinger Bach arises from a few channels north of the Lallinger village of Durchfurth between the climbing section of the district road DEG 23 on the eastern slope and the forester's house Ruseler Kreuzstraße on the western slope. Two flowing roughly in the direction of the valley spring at about 695  m above sea level. NN , ( 48 ° 52 ′ 37 ″  N , 13 ° 7 ′ 48 ″  E ) the highest source of a slope inflow is even at around 735  m above sea level. NN . The combined stream then flows south with the inclusion of a curve to the right and flows past Durchfurth on the right, Ranzing on the left and then briefly touches Lalling itself on the western edge of the village. In the cut valley it then joins the left Gneistinger Bach about half a kilometer southeast of Kaußing after 7.2 km.

The Gneistinger Bach arises at approx. 710  m above sea level. NN in a forest valley blade running south-southeast about 2 km north of the Hundinger hamlet Gneisting under the name Neufangerbach . ( 48 ° 51 ′ 53 ″  N , 13 ° 10 ′ 45 ″  E ) After exiting the spring blade, it changes to a south-westerly course in a wide valley spider, in which many streams run one after the other, flowing between Gneisting left and Sondorf right through and then touches Hunding himself on the northwestern edge. Then he passes Padling and Rohrstetten to the left and then enters a narrow valley running westwards at about the level of Euschertsfurth, which is now in the Lallinger district, where the Ranzinger Bach soon runs towards it.

course

The so at about 360  m above sea level. NN , the Hengersberger Ohe flows in the direction of the Gneistinger Bach inlet to the west, in the widening valley it passes Watzing on the right foot of the slope. Then she makes a curve to the left, Prechhausen is on the west bank on the subsequent southern run. Soon afterwards it separates Auerbach on the left bank, where there is a gauge , from Oberauerbach on the right slope.

In a violent loop to the southwest, it reaches Markt Hengersberg , which separates it from Schwarzach in the north. Past the northwestern edge of Hengersberg, where people used to bathe in the river in the Ohestrandbad Hengersberg, it moves southwest again towards Niederalteich , which it has now straightened. There, barely more than half a kilometer from the Danube, it turns roughly in its direction of flow and runs in an open loop of electricity around the Gundelau . On the first section of this part, it passes close to the north bank of the Hengersberg village of Altenufer as a community boundary river.

However, it does not quite complete the arch back to the Danube, but leaves the dead water , known from here on the Old Danube , to the south and then to the south-east parallel to the river towards winegrowers on the Danube . This artificial section of the river, which ends in the Donau-Altwasser Winzerer Letten , a nature reserve established in the 1980s with a population of rare bird species, was created in the 1950s to prevent this still water zone from silting up. At the former Donaumühle in Winzer, the water of the Hengersberger Ohe then runs from the left and southwest and to about 304  m above sea level. NN in the Danube .
