Henneckenrode is a village in the municipality of Holle in the Hildesheim district .

The village is located in the Harz foreland between the Hildesheimer Börde and Wohldenberg on the L 493.

history

On March 1, 1974, Henneckenrode was incorporated into the municipality of Holle.

Buildings

Henneckenrode Castle

The Henneckenrode castle was in 1579 by Heinrich von Saldern in the style of the Weser Renaissance built. In 1684 it came into the possession of the Counts of Bocholtz , who had to cede it to land rent master Friedrich Blum in 1820 in order to settle debts . This decreed in his will that the castle should be converted into an orphanage (Blum'sche Waisenhausstiftung). After the renovation work was completed, the facility was opened in 1838. In 1856 it was given to the Sisters of Mercy . Today, the Henneckenrode child and youth welfare organization is part of the Caritas Association of the Hildesheim diocese , and the farm is leased.

St. Joseph's Church

In the palace complex is located as an attachment to the three-sided farmyard to the Catholic parish St. Hubertus, Wohldenberg belonging St. Joseph's Church , which from the palace church emerged.
