DJ Phono (2010)

DJ Phono (born November 1, 1979 in Rendsburg ; actually Henning Besser ) is a German DJ and concept artist . Among other things, he was the tour DJ of the Hamburg band Deichkind and is now the artistic head of the group's live shows. DJ Phono lives in Hamburg .

Live and act

DJ Phono started as a hip-hop DJ at the age of 15 and was, among other things, vice European champion in scratching in 1998 . In this way he got to know the band Deichkind , who hired him as a tour DJ. In his early 20s, DJ Phono moved from Rendsburg to Hamburg, where he increasingly discovered funk , soul , French house and electro and played in clubs.

DJ Phono has become a permanent member of Deichkind's band and designs Deichkind's live shows under the pseudonym “La Perla”. He was also active as a producer of Egoexpress , International Pony , Die Goldenen Zitronen and Mischer for the artist and musician Erobique . In 2001 he released the electronic album Lovetorpedo with the medicine man under the name Phono . Ten years later, DJ Phono's maxi single There's Confetti In My Shoe was released in May 2011 and his first solo album Welcome To Wherever You're Not the month after . Both releases were produced and co-composed by Jimi Siebels .
