Henning Lambertz

Henning Lambertz (born December 12, 1970 in Neuss ) is a German swimmer and swimming coach.

Life

Athletic career

At the end of the 1980s, Lambertz came to SG Neuss and took part in several German championships as a swimmer. His main swimming styles were chest and freestyle . When he was slower in the 50m freestyle against a 14-year-old at the age of 21, he ended his active career as an athlete.

Education

Lambertz studied biology at the University of Cologne and sports science at the German Sport University Cologne .

Coaching stations

Lambertz was a trainer at SV Bayer Wuppertal from 1997 to 2008 and from 2008 to 2014 trainer for SG Essen and national base trainer . Here he trained, among others, Thomas Rupprath , Daniela Samulski , Hendrik Feldwehr , Dorothea Brandt , Christian vom Lehn , Caroline Ruhnau , Lisa Vitting , Paulina Schmiedel , Isabelle Härle , Antje Buschschulte , Sina Sutter and Steffen Driesen .

At the Olympic Games in 2000, 2004 and 2012 he was one of the coaching staff on site. He was national coach at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

From 2013 until his retirement in 2018, he was the head coach of the German Swimming Association (DSV). Lambertz then became a trainee lawyer for biology and sport at the Friedrich-Bayer-Realschule in Wuppertal.

Personal

Lambertz has been married to the national water polo player Nadine Kunz since 2007 .
