Henri-Marie Guilluy

Henri-Marie Guilluy (born December 5, 1911 in Ruitz , † 2008 ) was a French Roman Catholic clergyman, Benedictine , monastery founder and religious founder . He stands at the beginning of the Benedictine congregation Notre-Dame d'Espérance .

life and work

Henri Charles Joseph Guilly, son of a doctor, entered the Benedictine Abbey of Wisques , took the religious name Henri-Marie and made his profession in 1935 . He was ordained a priest in 1939 and later became a novice master . Inspired by Hermann von Reichenau and encouraged by Abbot Augustin Savaton (1878–1965, Abbot from 1928 to 1960), Guilly founded the Notre-Dame de l'Espérance (Mary Hope) priory ( donated by the Diocese of Amiens ) in Croixrault in 1966 with a special purpose , Disabled people to enable monastic life. The success quickly led to further establishments in France. 1977 recognized as an institution by the state, 1984 episcopal, the congregation Maria Hope was incorporated into the Benedictine order in 1990. After Guilluy's death, Jean-Yves Mercier succeeded him as Prior General.
