Henry Poole - Haunted by Happiness is a 2008 American film . Directed by Mark Pellington , the screenplay was written by Albert Torres .

After Henry Poole learned from his doctor that he had only a short time to live, he bought a house in the suburbs of Los Angeles . He gets to know his neighbor Esperanza and lets her understand that he wants to be left alone. Poole also meets the single neighbor Dawn Stupek and her silent daughter Millie. After a prayer Esperanza, she believes she can see the face of Jesus Christ in a water stain on a wall of Poole's house. Esperanza shows it to the members and the pastor of their parish.
Reviews
Robert Koehler wrote in the online edition of Variety magazine on January 23, 2008 that the film, officially described as a particularly personal project by director Mark Pellington, contained a dash of an interesting thriller, but was otherwise disappointing. The "dressing down" about the power of faith and religion can a "childlike" ( "childlike" to be determined) audience. Luke Wilson can be liked "as always" .
