Career

The sources on Henry Rose are very poor. What is only certain is that he lived between 1856 and 1923, at least for some time in Los Angeles and was a member of the Republican Party . In 1913 he was elected mayor of Los Angeles. He held this office between July 1, 1913 and July 1, 1915 for a term. During this time the water supply with the help of the so called Owens River Aqueduct was discussed. Prior to his time as mayor, Rose was an opponent of the project, which he now advocated as mayor. It was then that the foundation stone for the Southwest Museum was laid and in 1914 the first flight from San Francisco took placeto Los Angeles. The first double-decker buses also went into operation. After the end of his term of office, the trail of Henry Rose is lost again. It is only mentioned in the sources that he died in 1923.
