Heppinger medicinal water

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Heppinger Heilwasser is a natural healing water from the Heppinger spring. The Heppinger springs are located in the medicinal spring protection area of the old Heppinger fountain in the Ahr valley near Bad Neuenahr . "Heppinger extra" is now produced as "healing water" by Apollinaris GmbH in accordance with the requirements of the German Medicines Act .

history

"Heppinger" clay jug from 1828

The healing effect of the water from the springs at the Heppinger Brunnen at the foot of the Landskrone (Ahr) mountain was mentioned in the scientific medical literature of the Renaissance from 1565 by the doctors Johann Winter von Andernach (University of Strasbourg, Paris) and Jacob Theodorus Tabernaemontanus (University of Heidelberg) .

A well operation for the extraction, storage and sale of mineral and medicinal water from the Heppinger springs is proven in 1715 by a drawing by Renier Roidkin .

An analysis of the components of the Heppinger mineral water appeared in the Ahr Valley Guide by Ernst Weyden in 1835 . It was carried out by the Bonn geologist Karl Gustav Bischof , who was involved in the drilling of the Apollinaris spring , only about 1000 meters away, in 1852 .

The mineral and medicinal water of the old Heppinger fountain "Heppinger" was known nationwide and in 1852 was sold abroad by pharmacies in Luxembourg. The spring water was filled into clay-baked mineral water jugs with the seal of the Heppinger Fountain, anchor and triangle as a stylized sail (see illustration of the “Heppinger” clay jug).

The mineral water operation of the old Heppinger Fountain with the Heppinger springs was acquired in 1885 by the "Actiengesellschaft Apollinaris Brunnen" through a contract with the Royal Prussian Government in Koblenz.

In 1910 the German Reich government in Berlin recognized the "non-profit status" for the sources of the Heppinger Fountain, in 1929 the Prussian government in Koblenz granted special protection for the Heppinger water and the source area through the medicinal spring protection ordinance of June 15, 1929, which is still valid today.
