Heppingen is a district and district of the city of Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler in the Ahrweiler district in Rhineland-Palatinate . The place is at the foot of the land crown .

Heppingen is one of ten districts in the city of Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler. The district is represented by a local advisory board and a local mayor .

The town council consists of five members in the municipal election held on May 26, 2019 in a majority vote were elected, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

Klaus Kniel (CDU) became mayor of Heppingen in 2014. In the direct election on May 26, 2019, he was confirmed in his office for another five years with 79.53% of the votes.

Kniel's predecessor Bernhard Bitzen (CDU) did not run again in 2019 for reasons of age.

Fountain

The Heppinger Fountain, mentioned from 1565 in the scientific medical literature of the Renaissance by the doctors Johann Winter von Andernach and Jacob Theodorus Tabernaemontanus , is located in the village. At this point of is Apollinaris displaced Heppinger medicinal water gained.

There is a primary school in Heimersheim. 140 students from the districts of Ehlingen , Gimmigen , Green , Heimersheim, Heppingen, Kirchdaun and Lohrsdorf are taught in the building, which was built in 1974 . A school kindergarten was also affiliated there until the 2013/14 school year .

Heppinger House

The former moated castle in Heppingen is now owned by the Graf Wolff-Metternich family .
