history
Ehlingen was first mentioned in 853 as "Adalingohovo" when it was given to the St. Cassius monastery in Bonn . Around the year 1162, Deutz Abbey in Ehlingen owned a mill , and Steinfeld Abbey owned a number of vineyards in the 13th and 14th centuries .
Ehlingen today
In the old "Backes" (Rhenish for Backhaus ), baked goods are still used on various occasions, and the small St. Hubertus Chapel in the same alley is still used regularly. A special custom here is the Hubertus bread consecration on November 3rd.
There are also some local associations with a very long tradition: the Backesverein, which maintains the Backhaus, the table tennis club TTV Ehlingen e. V. and the bachelor association JGV Ehlingen e. V.
