Herbert Fladerer
Herbert Fladerer (born May 11, 1913 in Vienna , † December 13, 1981 in Wernstein am Inn ) was an Austrian painter and graphic artist .
Life, training and work
Fladerer received his artistic training from 1930 to 1932 at the graphic teaching and research institute in Vienna . From 1932 to 1940 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna with Hans Larwin and Christian Ludwig Martin , where he met Johanna Dorn , whom he married in 1942 while on leave from the front . He did military service in the Wehrmacht from 1940 to 1945 in Russia and on the Arctic Front .
From 1946 he worked as a freelance artist in Kneiding near Münzkirchen and together with his wife he joined the Innviertel artists' guild.
Fladerer's early works show the influence of Switbert Lobisser , later also of Alfred Kubin . The central artistic medium was the woodcut.
In 1952 his son Thomas was born. In 1965 the family moved to Wernstein am Inn . From 1975 the first signs of his serious illness were visible, of which he died in 1981.

Appreciation
- In Wernstein am Inn and in Münzkirchen the Herbert-Fladerer Straße and in Schärding the Herbert-Fladerer-Weg were named after him.
