Herbert Meurer

Herbert August Meurer (born June 16, 1946 in Cologne ) is a German actor .

Life

Meurer trained as an actor and director with Marianne Jentgens, founder of the drama school der Keller in Cologne. He then worked as a freelance actor and director at various municipal and private theaters ( Cologne City Theaters , Theater Bonn and Bad Godesberg, Düsseldorfer Kammerspiele , Komödie Frankfurt , Grenzlandtheater Aachen , Millowitsch Theater Cologne).

He played leading roles in classical theater, but above all the modern authors of the 20th century. He devoted himself to popular theater early on . He played Sosias in Amphitryon , Aegist in Die Flies , Hans in Schweig, Bub! and Giles Ralston in The Mousetrap . In the seasons 1978 to 1982 he played pieces by and with Trude Herr in her theater in Vringsveedel in Cologne ( The big hit, Der Hausmann, Drei Glas Kölsch and massage salon Denz ).

1972 to 2010 a. a. He played guest roles in Tatort , Die Drombuschs , Lindenstrasse , Ein Fall für Zwei , Die Wilde Hühner , Pastewka , the Heinz Becker family , Eurocops , Mit Leib und Seele and Ein Schloß am Wörthersee .

In 2011 Meurer published the satirical novel Ready for the patient! , based on experience of bypass surgery .

Meurer lives in Cologne, is married and has a son. He is committed to cerebral palsy patients.
