Hergramsdorf is a district of the Upper Franconian community of Weitramsdorf in the Coburg district .

geography

Hergramsdorf is about six kilometers west of Coburg in a valley between the Grainberg and the Steinerberg, through which the Güßbach flows. A communal road connects Hergramsdorf with Scheuerfeld and Altenhof .

history

Hergramsdorf was first mentioned in a document in 1290, when the Langheim monastery acquired Eberhard von Kotzau's rights in the village of “Hergrammesdorf”. In 1303 the settlement was completely owned by the monastery.

Hergramsdorf was administered by the Tambach Monastery, the most important branch of the Langheim Monastery. The place belonged to the Prince-Bishop's Würzburg territory, the neighboring Weitramsdorf to the Principality of Saxony-Coburg . In between there was a denominational boundary.

Franconia became part of Bavaria in 1803 and the Langheim monastery was dissolved in the course of secularization in Bavaria . In January 1806 Count Joseph Carl von Ortenburg took possession of the Tambacher Lande as an imperial county of Ortenburg-Tambach . In October 1806 the county was mediatized . From December 1806 to 1810 Hergramsdorf belonged to the Grand Duchy of Würzburg as part of the Tambacher Land . After its dissolution, the Tambach Lordship Court was assigned to the Mainkreis . In 1862 Hergramsdorf was incorporated into the newly created Bavarian District Office in Staffelstein . In addition, Altenhof, Tambach and Hergramsdorf merged to form the Altenhof community.

In 1925 Hergramsdorf had 36 residents and 7 houses. The school for the Protestant students was in Tambach, for the Catholic students in Altenhof. On April 1, 1931, the Altenhof community was incorporated from the Staffelstein district office into the Coburg district office.

On January 1, 1972, Altenhof and Hergramsdorf were incorporated into Weitramsdorf. In 1987 Hergramsdorf had 54 residents and 13 houses with 18 apartments.
