action

Hercules and the adventurer Odysseus get into a fight with a sea monster on the high seas and are washed up on the beach of the Philistine Empire. While those who stayed at home hope for the best, the companions arrive in a village that holds the rebel Samson prisoner, who grieves the king of Gaza. Hercules kills a bull and a lion and finally arrives with his companion at the royal palace, where he is mistaken for Samson and can only trigger the friend who is then held hostage if he defeats Samson and delivers King Seren.

Hercules is accompanied in search of Samson by Delilah, who takes his side when she realizes what the two men who join forces are fighting against. Meanwhile, Argos and his men are sailing towards Judea. An ambush by the Philistines at the apparent surrender of Samson by Hercules is thwarted by Odysseus; everything fights, the royal palace collapses, the king dies, and the heroes escape with the Argonauts who have sailed to help.

criticism

"Even after the first wooden dialogues, it becomes clear that this is a" serious "attempt to present the ancient world of legends in a stew with lots of muscles and tendons (...)."

“Flat stew from the" kitchen "of the ancient world of legends, seasoned with bodybuilding shows similar to advertising films. Certainly not meant as a parody, but consistently ridiculous. "

Remarks

"The villainous Philistines in Hercules, Samson and Odysseus wear Nazi helmets."

Derek Elley notes that the film subconsciously reinforces the theory that the Philistines may be of Greek origin.

The first film to feature two strong heroes together grossed 280 million lire in Italy .
