Hermann Flick (born November 22, 1905 in Kehl , Baden , † January 19, 1944 ) was a German football player .

career

In his club career, Flick played for TuS Duisburg 48/99 from 1916 to 1931 , at Guts Muts Dresden from 1931 to 1936 , before ending his career at TuS Duisburg 48/99 from 1936 to 1938. With Duisburg he entered in his first phase in the district class and 1929/30 and 1930/31 in the district league Niederrhein. Through intelligent play and careful distribution of the ball, he drew attention to himself as a right runner and center runner and was therefore also appointed to the selection of West Germany. He also belonged to the player line-up in the three legendary semi-finals compete for the Federal Cup in 1927-28 against North Germany. The first game on January 8, 1928 ended in Hamburg after extra time 4-4 draw; in the first replay on February 5, 1928 in Duisburg they parted again after extra time with 2: 2, before the North Germans could prevail on April 1 in Altona with a 2: 1 win after extra time. In all three games, the West German selection was in the runner series with Hermann Flick, Hans Gruber and Konrad Heidkamp . Also in the following year 1928/29 Flick retired with West Germany in the federal cup in the semifinals - 1: 2 defeat against Brandenburg.

He played his only international match on October 20, 1929 in the 4-0 victory of the German team over Finland . Reich coach Otto Nerz had six debutants with goalkeeper Wilhelm Blunk , Flick, Karl Schulz , Willi Völker , Fritz Szepan and August Sackenheim . The trained businessman continued his career at Guts Muts Dresden in Saxony from 1931. From 1933 to 1936 he joined the Gauliga Sachsen with his new club . After his return to Duisburg he got to know the playing strength of the Gauliga Niederrhein in the two rounds 1936/37 and 1937/38 at 48/99 .

Hermann Flick fell on the Eastern Front near Leningrad in World War II .
