Willi Völker

Willi "Bubi" Völker (born October 13, 1906 in Berlin ; † August 16, 1945 ) was a German football player . As a defender, he won the German soccer championship twice with Hertha BSC in 1930 and 1931 .

career

As a teenager, the Neukölln native belonged to Viktoria 89 Berlin from 1915 to 1924 . In his first season with the Elf vom Stadion an der "Plumpe", as the Stadion am Gesundbrunnen was popularly known, he won the Berlin championship in 1924/25 and only failed in the final round of the German championship in the semifinals with a 0: 1- Defeat after extra time at FSV Frankfurt. In his first final game on May 3, 1925, in a 3-2 win after extra time at VfB Königsberg, he scored a goal as a center forward. In the semifinals against the team from Bornheim , he formed the legendary Hertha runner series with Otto Leuschner and Karl Tewes .
