Hermann Gerhard Müller

Hermann Gerhard Müller (born April 12, 1803 in Brake , † April 22, 1881 there ) was a businessman, mayor and member of the Reichstag of the North German Confederation .

Life

Müller came as the son of the Braker merchant Hermann Gerhard Müller (approx. 1769–1829) and his first wife Johanne Dorothee Sophie nee. Claussen († 1810) to the world. He attended the old grammar school in Oldenburg and studied law at the universities of Heidelberg and Leipzig from 1826 to 1828 . During his studies he became a member of the old Heidelberg fraternity in 1826 . After completing his studies, he took over an agricultural business from his father of the same name, initially together with his brother, from 1834 as the sole owner. Later he also owned a shipping company in Brake. He was also parish councilor and mayor of the community Hammelwarden . On March 27, 1856, he was elected mayor of Brake, whose railway connection he reached in 1873 with the construction of the railway line from Hude to Brake . He retained the office of mayor until his death.

1867 was a miller, the policy of the national liberal movement was close to, a member of the Constituent Reichstag of the North German Federation for the constituency Oldenburg 2 ( Jever , Brake , Westerstede , Varel ) and the National Liberal Party . In the Reichstag elections in the summer of 1867, however, he turned down a new candidacy and concentrated on local politics.
