Hermann Große-Berg

Hermann Große-Berg (born July 2, 1966 in Lingen (Ems) ) is a German theater actor .

Life

After graduating from high school at the Georgianum Gymnasium in Lingen (Ems), Große-Berg trained as an actor at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna from 1987 to 1991 . There he graduated in 1991 with an acting diploma as a stage actor. During his training he received in 1991 a Elevenvertrag at the Burgtheater in Vienna , where he directed by Peter Zadek in Ivanov by Anton Chekhov occurred. At the end of his training he worked under the direction of Heiner Müller in the pieces Quartet and Mauser . His roles included: Horatio in Hamlet , Silvio in The Servant of Two Masters , Buenco in Clavigo , Ruprecht in The Broken Jug , Erich Spitta in The Rats , Trofimov in The Cherry Orchard , Waska Pepel in Nachtasyl and Andri in Andorra .

In October 2001 he played the title role in the semi-opera King Arthur by Henry Purcell in the Heilig-Kreuz-Kirche in Berlin-Kreuzberg .

From 2003 to 2008, Große-Berg was a permanent member of the ensemble at the Rheinisches Landestheater Neuss . His first role there was Ejlert Lövborg in the drama Hedda Gabler by Henrik Ibsen . In August 2007 he played the title role in Jedermann by Hugo von Hofmannsthal at the Dreieichenhain Castle Festival with the RLT ensemble . In 2009 he played the Duke of Ferrara in Johann Wolfgang von Goethe's play Torquato Tasso at RLT Neuss .

Große-Berg has been a permanent member of the Theater Erlangen ensemble since the 2009/10 season . Große-Berg made his successful debut there in October 2009 in the title role of Faust by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. Also from October 2009 he played there on the side of Linda Foerster as Lizzie the husband Darry in the comedy The End of the Beginning of the Irish playwright Seán O'Casey . From January 2010 he took over the aging, cynical history professor George in Edward Albee's stage hit Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? . In the 2009/10 season he played from April 2010 at the Erlangen Theater in a production by the director and general manager Katja Ott in Henrik Ibsen's play The Woman from the Sea, the role of head teacher Arnholm. In the 2011/12 season he took on the role of King Peter von Popo in the comedy Leonce and Lena at Theater Erlangen .

Große-Berg also works for film and television. In 2008 he played the role of Hermann Göring in the documentary film Hitler in front of the court . He also appeared in several radio plays for ORF and WDR .

Große-Berg lives alternately in Berlin and Erlangen .
