Hermann Hämmerle

Hermann Hämmerle (born December 10, 1897 in Kufstein , Tyrol , † March 28, 1981 in Innsbruck ) was an Austrian judge and university professor.

Life

As the son of a lawyer , Hämmerle went to the First World War as a war volunteer after graduating from high school . In addition, he studied law from 1916 at the University of Innsbruck . There he became a member of the Corps Rhaetia . In October 1920 to Dr. iur. after receiving his doctorate , he joined the judiciary in 1921 after a brief period as a lawyer. After he had passed the judge's examination in 1924 , he was a judge in Innsbruck from 1926 to 1929 . In 1927 he completed his habilitation under Paul Gustav Kretschmar for Austrian and German commercial law. He then represented the chair at the University of Graz for two years . Since 1929 private lecturer in Innsbruck, he followed the call of the Königsberg Commercial College on November 1, 1930 . In May 1933 he joined the NSDAP . In 1933/34 he was rector of the commercial college. November 9, 1933, he was appointed University of Königsberg as o. Professor . After the annexation of Austria , he returned to Innsbruck in April 1938 as the successor to Karl Wolff . After he had been dean from 1940 to 1945 and a higher regional judge from 1942/43 , he was dismissed on April 3, 1946. Eduard Reut-Nicolussi considered it intolerable in 1947. That is why Hämmerle applied for a new habilitation in 1950, which he achieved on October 31, 1950 for civil , commercial, labor and business law . Although he stayed in Innsbruck, the University of Graz appointed him in September 1952 as associate professor and in 1959 as full professor . After a stroke in August 1967 right side paralyzed, he was in 1968 at the age of 71 years emeritus .
