Hermann Kehl

Hermann Kehl (born July 5, 1886 in Hanau , † February 19, 1967 in Munich ) was a German surgeon.

Career

Kehl's parents were the manufacturer Carl Kehl and his wife Susanne Kehl nee. Scheller . He attended the Oberrealschule in Hanau and the Realgymnasium in Kassel. After graduating from high school, he studied medicine at the Philipps University of Marburg , the Kaiser Wilhelms University of Strasbourg , the Hessian Ludwig University , the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg and the Ludwig Maximilians University of Munich . In 1905 he became a member of the Corps Teutonia Marburg . In the same year he joined the Corps Palatia Strasbourg . In 1911 he received his doctorate from the University of Leipzig . He completed his surgical training in Hamburg, Marburg and Heidelberg.

During the First World War he served as a military doctor and field hospital surgeon at the front. Most recently he was a senior physician . He received the Iron Cross, 2nd and 1st class. After his return he qualified as a professor in 1918 in Marburg for surgery . After four years as a private lecturer , he was appointed associate professor in 1922 . In 1924 he took over the management of the municipal hospital in Siegen and remained in this position until 1952. When he left, he was awarded the Great Federal Cross of Merit.

Kehl worked on the handbook of medical experiences in the world war and the handbook of all accident medicine .

Since 1916 he was married to Mia Lehr , with whom he had two sons.
