Hermann Pfeiffer (born May 6, 1902 in Elberfeld , † July 11, 1969 in Cologne ) was a German actor , radio play speaker and director .

Life

At the age of 17 he began his acting career and received his first engagement at the Wuppertal Theaters in 1920 . Then he played in Mönchengladbach , Gera and Erfurt, among others . During this time he also worked as a dramaturge and theater director , in Erfurt he had been deputy theater director from 1931 with the department of artistic affairs.

From 1935 to 1936 he was engaged in Magdeburg , then he came to Berlin, where he found access to film. From 1936 he stood in front of the camera in a large number of small and small roles. In this role, Pfeiffer embodied every conceivable marginal figure from usher to bailiff or registrar. Several times he directed it himself, without making any particular difference. From 1957 he worked as an actor and director for the WDR in Cologne.

Pfeiffer was also a very busy radio play speaker and director. As a narrator, for example, he was involved in various radio plays in the Paul Temple series by Francis Durbridge in various roles, such as the Gregory affair (1949), the Curzon case (1951), the Vandyke case (1953) (each directed by Eduard Hermann ) and the Alex case (1968) (directed by Otto Düben ).
