Hermann Stroebel

Hermann Ströbel (born February 5, 1941 in Bad Windsheim , † April 26, 2008 in Erfurt ) was a German political official . From 1992 to 2004 he was State Secretary in the Thuringian Ministry of Culture .

Life and career

Ströbel completed a degree in modern philology at the Julius Maximilians University in Würzburg . The senior teacher began his professional career as a grammar school teacher for English and French at the X-ray grammar school in Würzburg and an employee at the Bavarian State Ministry for Education and Culture . This was followed by positions as head of a grammar school in Munich and as head of department at the Bavarian State Institute for School Education and Educational Research .

After returning to the Bavarian Ministry of Culture, Ströbel came to Thuringia in 1990 , where he initially worked as a department head in the newly established Ministry of Culture. After he had been entrusted with the management of the State Secretary's business since summer 1991, he was appointed State Secretary in the Thuringian Ministry of Education on February 25, 1992. On July 7, 2004, he resigned from this office.

Hermann Ströbel was married and had two children.

Honorary positions and honors

Until his death, Ströbel worked on a voluntary basis, for example as chairman of the Thuringian Volunteer Foundation and in the Thuringian Heart Foundation.

On November 2, 2007, he was awarded the Order of Merit of the Free State of Thuringia for his services in building up the school system in Thuringia .
