Hermann Treusch

Hermann Treusch (born October 3, 1937 in Butzbach / Hessen ) is a German actor , artistic director and director and founder of the Studiokreis 59 .

Career

After graduating from high school , Treusch studied German , art history and musicology in Marburg . There he staged Sartre's dead without a funeral on the student stage . In 1958 he took lessons at the Max Reinhardt School for Drama in Berlin. He founded his own theater group and went on a tour of Germany with the play Woyzeck by Georg Büchner .

In 1960 he started his first engagement at the theater in Oberhausen . In 1961 he played at the State Theater in Stuttgart , from 1962 to 1965 at the United Theaters in Graz , from 1965 to 1969 at the State Theater in Hanover and in 1969/1970 at the Bavarian State Theater in Munich .

Since 1964 he also worked as a director. In 1970 he became senior director of the Theater am Turm (TAT) in Frankfurt as the successor to Claus Peymann . From 1975 to 1979 he was also the artistic director of the TAT. In 1980 he became a member of the State Theaters of Berlin . From 1990 to 1992 he was the artistic director of the Freie Volksbühne Berlin .

From 1994 to 1997 he was the performer of Jedermann at the Berliner Jedermann Festival .

Hermann Treusch was married to the actress and sociologist Gerburg Treusch-Dieter († November 19, 2006).
