Hermann Weigel

Hermann Gustav Adolf Weigel (* December 20, 1828 in Kassel ; † April 30, 1887 there ) was a lawyer and member of the Reichstag .

Weigel studied law from 1847 to 1851 in Bonn , Marburg and Berlin . During his studies in 1847 he became a member of the Frankonia fraternity in Bonn . In 1852 he became a trainee lawyer at the higher court in Kassel. From 1856 to 1858 he carried out economic studies alternately in Bremen , Berlin and Hamburg . From the end of 1858 he was secretary of the Chamber of Commerce and syndic of the stock exchange in Wroclaw involved in the negotiations of the economic congress and the trading day. From the autumn of 1862 he was a lawyer in Kassel, and from 1863 until the annexation of the electorate as a result of the German War he was a member of the last two Kurhessische estates assemblies . From 1868 to 1886 he was a member of the Kassel municipal parliament in the newly created province of Hessen-Nassau . In spring 1870 he was elected second mayor of Kassel, he resigned from this position in spring 1873.

He became a member of the constituent Reichstag for the constituency of Kassel-Melsungen . He was elected to the first Reichstag of the North German Confederation in the same constituency and also in the constituency of Hanau-Gelnhausen , he accepted the election for the latter and also represented this group in the German Reichstag until 1881 , each for the National Liberal Party . From 1874 to 1881 he was also secretary of the Reichstag. He was a member of the deputation of the Reichstag to Versailles in December 1870. In 1876 he became a member of the manor house for Kassel for life.
