Hermannrode is a district of the Neu-Eichenberg community in the Werra-Meißner district in northern Hesse .

Geographical location

Hermannrode is located in the border triangle of Hesse, Thuringia and Lower Saxony in a side valley of the Molle. State road 3238 runs through the village .

history

The place is first mentioned in 1267 under the name "Hermeroth". The church , a fortified church , is mentioned as early as 1305. The place belonged to the Hessian office Ludwigstein / Witzenhausen until 1821 and then to the district of Witzenhausen . During the French occupation, the place belonged to the canton Friedland in the Kingdom of Westphalia (1807-1813).

On February 1, 1971, the municipality of Hermannrode was merged with four other places to form the new municipality of Neu-Eichenberg as part of the regional reform in Hesse .

Regular events

Every year in August, the fountain festival is celebrated at the Hermannsbrunnen under the lime trees .

Infrastructure

In Hermannrode there is a village community center , a children's playground and a football field .
