Logistics area
The community of Neu-Eichenberg has been trying since 2003 to establish a logistics area near the Hebenshausen location . So far, however, no serious interested parties have been found. The construction project was viewed critically by the citizens from the start, as u. a. considerable noise pollution is feared. Therefore one was public decision made as to whether the planning should be promoted. This went out in favor of the logistics area.
In 2017, the municipal council decided with the votes of the SPD and CDU to buy and develop the space for this on their own, which would mean costing the municipality several million euros. This triggered a renewed civic engagement against the planning.
In June 2018 it was announced that the logistics area had been sold to Dietz AG. On May 4, 2019, climate activists occupied the arable land and set up a camp there. In January 2020, the Neu-Eichenberg municipal council decided that it wanted to suspend further planning steps and marketing for at least six months in order to deal more intensively with alternatives to the logistics area. In February 2020 it became public that Dietz AG is no longer ready to implement the logistics area. It became public at the end of 2019 that Dietz AG might get out of planning.
