Hernán Alvarado Solano

Hernán Alvarado Solano (born January 26, 1946 in Santafé de Bogotá , † January 31, 2011 in Bogotá ) was a Colombian clergyman and Vicar Apostolic of Guapi .

Life

Hernán Alvarado Solano studied after graduating from the minor seminary in Zipaquirá , philosophy in the seminary in Ibagué and theology at the seminary in Bogotá. He was ordained a priest for the diocese of Zipaquirá on December 4, 1971 . He studied communication sciences at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile .

On February 13, 2001, he was appointed Titular Bishop of Tubunae in Mauretania by Pope John Paul II and appointed Vicar Apostolic of the Guapi Apostolic Vicariate, southwest of Bogotá. He received his episcopal ordination on March 24th of the same year by the Bishop of Zipaquirá, Jorge Enrique Jiménez Carvajal CIM; Co -consecrators were Archbishop Beniamino Stella , Apostolic Nuncio in Colombia, and Daniel Caro Borda , Auxiliary Bishop in the Archdiocese of Bogotá .
