history
The Apostolic Vicariate Guapi was on April 5, 1954 by Pope Pius XII. established from the cession of territory by the Apostolic Prefecture of Tumaco as the Apostolic Prefecture of Guapi . On February 13, 2001, the Apostolic Prefecture Guapi was elevated to the Apostolic Vicariate by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Cum Praefectura Apostolica Guapiensis .
