from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

HeroQuest 2: Legacy of Sorasil is the sequel to the computer game HeroQuest and a software implementation of the board game HeroQuest by MB Spiele . It was adapted by the British development studio Gremlin Graphics Software and published in 1994 for Amiga and Amiga CD³² .

Gameplay

HeroQuest 2: Legacy of Sorasil plays similarly to its predecessor. Up to four players choose a character from a pool of eight predefined hero characters. Together they explore dungeons and other locations in rounds, fight against computer-controlled creatures and look for better equipment. The whole thing is embedded in a loose plot, according to which an epidemic has broken out in the land of Rhia due to a prolonged drought. The heroes should find an amulet and an oracle stone to fight the plague. The cards are presented from a three-dimensional isometric perspective , the playing field is divided into square fields. The game consists of nine missions in total. The heroes increase in character level after completing a mission and can be improved by buying items in department stores.

Unlike its predecessor, HeroQuest 2 requires more cooperation between players. In comparison, the CD32 version has a more extensive color gamut and improved sound.

" The Legacy of Sorasil spreads the same cultivated boredom that made its predecessor the meditation program for stressed computer gamers."

“CD32 owners will be more than happy with Gremlin's superb adventure sequel. The 3D isometric graphics are spot on, the CD sound is a major improvement over the sonics heard in the computer version, plus it's still highly playable and incredibly addictive ”

“CD32 owners will be more than happy with Gremlin's excellent adventure sequel. The three-dimensional isometric graphics are spot on, the CD sound is a significant improvement over the sounds of the computer version, and it's still perfectly playable and incredibly addicting. "
