Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team is a shoot 'em up from THQ for Windows , Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 . It was launched in July 2011 and is based on the Warhammer 40,000 tabletop game rules from Games Workshop .

Gameplay

Kill Team is a so-called twin-stick shooter and can be played alone or with a teammate. The game is shown from an overview perspective. The player chooses his character from four different character types (Devastator-Marine, Techmarine, Librarian, Vanguard-Assault-Marine). They have different combat values and focuses (close or long-range combat) and a character-specific special ability. The aim of the game is to stop an orcish invasion ship ("Kreuza") before it can reach a human colonial world and start an invasion. The game consists of five levels with around 3-4 hours of playtime, in which the player sabotages the drive, generator and attack fleet and defeats the leader of the orcs. To do this he has to fight his way through numerically superior hordes of opponents. In addition to the orcs, the player also fights against representatives of the Tyranid people. There are points for killing opponents, and bonuses on the score for quickly completing each other. With the points collected, the characters can be equipped with new, improved weapons between the levels and the values can be improved using so-called perks.

"Low base playing time vs. explosive battles. The bottom line is a damn short, but also damn entertaining two-stick shooter with local co-op mode. "
