Warhammer 40,000: Fire Warrior is a first person shooter from Kuju Entertainment for Windows and PlayStation 2 . It was commissioned by the US publisher THQ and is based on the Warhammer 40,000 tabletop from Games Workshop . The game first came out in October 2003.

action

The player slips into the role of Shas'la Kais, a young fire warrior from the extraterrestrial people of the Tau , whose world is invaded by human imperial troops . The game begins with Kais' transport to the front and covers the events of the following 24 hours. When the leader of the Tau is kidnapped by the Imperial troops, Kais embarks on a mission to rescue him.

Gameplay

Fire Warrior consists in the single player campaign of 20 linearly structured levels with around 30-60 minutes playing time, through which the player fights his way through in the style of a first-person shooter against a majority of enemy units. The character can carry two weapons, the primary weapon of which is unchangeable and gains strength over time. The secondary weapon, however, can be exchanged. There is a choice of various types of weapons such as assault rifles, shotguns, rocket launchers, sniper rifles or pulse cannons. The game works with a checkpoint system and does not allow free saving. Missions mostly consist of turning off all enemies and looking for switches or keys to open blocked passages.

The multiplayer mode for up to four players offers the game variants, Deathmatch , Team Deathmatch and Capture the Flag , which can be played both in split screen and online. In the split screen there are two cards to choose from per mode, in the online game four.
