Hildegard Maria Rauchfuß
Hildegard Maria Rauchfuß (born February 22, 1918 in Breslau ; † May 28, 2000 in Leipzig ) was a German writer .
Life
Hildegard Maria Rauchfuß was the daughter of a Prussian officer and a mother of French descent. She attended a lyceum , but was expelled from school shortly before graduating from school for taking sides with Jewish friends. She then graduated from business school and then trained as a singer . During the Second World War she worked as a bank clerk. In spring 1945 she fled Breslau , first to Bad Warmbrunn and in 1947 to Leipzig . There she initially worked as an accountant . She has lived as a freelance writer in Leipzig since the early 1950s . From 1967 to 1976 she was an unofficial employee of the Ministry for State Security of the GDR under the code name "Bettina" or "Bettina Schreiber" .
Hildegard Maria Rauchfuß 'work includes novels , short stories , children's books , poems and song texts , television scripts and texts for the Leipziger Pfeffermühle cabaret . Her novel, an artist's marriage, Whom the stones answer, is based on the reconstruction of the Dresden Zwinger , while the strongly autobiographical books Schlesisches Himmelreich and Fisch auf dem Branches describe the development of a young woman from a conservative Silesian milieu from the 1920s until she moved to the GDR Late 1940s. In her last novel, Schlußstrich , which was much discussed at the time , the author deals with the subject of alcoholism . Rauchfuß 'lyrics were interpreted by Gisela May and the GDR band City ( Am Fenster ) , among others .
Hildegard Maria Rauchfuß belonged to the GDR Writers ' Association since 1950 and to the GDR Journalists' Association since 1975 . She received the following awards, among others: the City of Leipzig Art Prize in 1963 , the Johannes R. Becher Medal in 1973 , the Patriotic Order of Merit in 1979 and the GDR III National Prize in 1986 . Art and literature class.
