The nature reserve (NSG) Hinnenburger Forst with Emder Bachtal is the largest NSG in the Höxter district in North Rhine-Westphalia . The 1661 hectare NSG with the key number HX-072 was designated by ordinance in 2004. It is located in the area of the cities of Bad Driburg , Brakel and Nieheim, west of the B 252 and north of the B 64 .

With the "Driburger Land" and "Nieheim" landscape plans, the parts of the nature reserve that lie on the territory of the respective cities were split off into legally separate protected areas with the identifications HX-082 and HX-086.
