Hiraç Yagan ( poor. Հիրաչ Յագան , Hiratsch Jagan ; born January 3, 1989 in Etterbeek , Belgium ) is an Armenian- Belgian football player on the position of midfielder . He is two -time national team player of Armenia .
Career
Career start in Etterbeek
The son of Armenian immigrants began his active career as a football player in 1995 in his hometown of Central Belgium, Etterbeek, where he first worked in the youth division of FC Etterbeek Armenia . At the club, which consists almost exclusively of players with an Armenian migration background, he went through all youth teams until 2002 before another change occurred. This time the committed striker went to Woluwe-Saint-Lambert , not far away , where he was accepted into the youth of White Star Woluwe , a club currently playing in the Belgian third division. There he spent more instructive years with the youngsters until 2005, before he was offered the chance in 2005 to join the youth division of a professional club.
So it happened that Yagan moved in the same year to the youth department of Lierse SK , which at that time was still represented in the top Belgian football league . The young midfielder of Armenian descent kept it in the youth until 2007, before he left the club due to the hopelessness of being accepted into the professional squad. This was followed by a promising move to Standard Liège , where he was mainly used in the youth teams and in the U-21 team until he was 22 years old. However, he made it into the team's professional squad in the 2008/09 season and was used in the league in the same season.
Professional debut at Standard Liège
Yagan finally made his professional debut for the Wallonians on February 14, 2009, when he came on the pitch in the 73rd minute of play for the top Belgian talent Steven Defour in a 4-0 home win over his later loan club, AFC Tubize . In the further course of the game, the Armenian-Belgian dual citizen succeeded in the 87th minute after submission by Igor de Camargo to the 4-0 final score. A bitter aftertaste, however, was the yellow card that Yagan received shortly before the end of the game in the 91st minute. Another brief assignment followed for the 1.78 m tall midfielder on April 18, 2009 in a 3-0 away win over Excelsior Mouscron . At the end of the season, Standard Liège celebrated its tenth championship title in the top Belgian league in the club's history, after RSC Anderlecht were defeated in the championship playoff after a tie at the end of the season. In the two playoff games, in which Yagan was not used, Liège first reached a draw and was able to win the second leg 1-0 with a penalty from Axel Witsel and thus crown themselves the Belgian champions. The Armenian-born player also won the Belgian Supercup after his team defeated KRC Genk 2-0 without Yagan's involvement .
After the automatic qualification for the UEFA Champions League 2009/10 , Yagan was mainly used in the U-21 team of the club and was allowed to record on October 27, 2009 an 86-minute appearance in the Belgian Cup of the 2009/10 season . At the end of January 2010 he was finally awarded together with Jonathan Mendes to the AFC Tubize, which has its game operations in the second-rate EXQI League . At Tubize, Yagan was only used occasionally in championship games. After his return to Standard Liège in June 2010, Yagan was still in the squad of the U-21 team and the professional team with play in Belgium's top football league. In 2011 it was loaned out again, this time to Racing Charleroi Couillet Fleurus for six months .
Change to Switzerland
After he was no longer used in Liège, Yagan moved to his second home, Armenia, to Gandzasar Kapan , but there he was never really able to assert himself and his contract was not extended in the summer of 2012. After half a year without a club, he found a new job at Saint Gillis where he scored a goal in 29 games. In 2014 he moved to Meyrin FC, a club in Geneva suburbs in Switzerland . There he convinced the scouts of the traditional Swiss team Servette FC Genève and he was loaned for half a year with an option to take over, which was also drawn. After two seasons in Geneva, Yagan moved to FC Stade Nyonnais . When his contract was not renewed in the summer of 2019, he left the club and has been without a club since then.
International
In 2009, Yagan was appointed to the squad of the Armenian U-21 national team for the first time , which is currently still participating in the qualification for the U-21 European Championship. To date (as of July 23, 2010) he has completed six of his team's eight qualifying games so far and is currently in fourth place with the team in Group 2 . Yagan made his U-21 national team debut on June 9, 2009, when he was in the 5-2 home defeat against the Turkish U-21s from the start and was replaced by David Manoyan from the 60th minute on . About three months later, he scored his first U-21 goal in only his second international U-21 game, in which he was on the pitch for the entire duration of the game. In the 1: 3 home defeat against the U-21 national team of Switzerland , he scored the goal after a corner in the tenth minute of the game to equalize 1: 1, after Xavier Hochstrasser in the minute 4 to 1: 0 for the Swiss had met.
Just one day after his second U-21 international appearance, Yagan also played his second game in the senior national team of his home country when he came on for Arthur Yedigaryan in the 72nd minute of the 2-0 home defeat against Bosnia and Herzegovina . After the game, which was part of Armenia's qualification for the 2010 World Cup , Yagan retired with the Armenians as the bottom group in Group 5 in the qualification for the World Cup. The young midfielder made his senior national team debut on August 12, 2009 in a friendly against Moldova . In the 1: 4 home defeat he was used in the 58th minute for Yeghia Yavruyan .
