The Hochfügen hotel complex is one of three parts of the municipality of Fügenberg in the Zillertal . It is located at an altitude of around 1480 meters and can only be reached via the almost 14 kilometers long Hochfügen-Straße .
Characteristic
In contrast to the two other districts of the municipality of Fügenberg - Fügenberg and Pankrazberg - Hochfügen is not a naturally grown place, but a retort settlement built for tourist development purposes. This emerged when construction of the Hochfügen mountain hotel began in the Finsingtal in the early 1960s . Further hotel buildings and weekend houses followed later, as well as numerous facilities that were used for further expansion as a winter sports resort. In December 2004, the ski area around the village of Hochfügen was connected to the Hochzillertal further east through the construction of additional lifts , creating what is now the Hochfügen-Hochzillertal ski area.
