Wedding - no thanks! ( Hindi : सलाम नमस्ते, Salām Namaste; Salām is the greeting used by Muslims, Namaste is the greeting used by Hindus) is a Hindi film that is set entirely in Australia and was also shot there. It was released in Indian cinemas on September 9, 2005 . The tagline of the film is Let's get to know each other , to German Let's get to know each other .

action

The film is about two Indians, Nikhil "Nick" Arora and Ambar Malhotra, who left India to live their own lives in Australia: Nick left his architecture studies in his hometown Ludhiana behind (his parents don't know about it yet ) and moved to Melbourne , Australia to become head chef at his own restaurant called Nick of Time , which ensures he leads a relaxed lifestyle and sleeps in late in the morning. When he is supposed to do an interview for an Indian radio station located in Australia called "Salaam Namaste", he does not appear. The radio presenter Ambar Malhotra, who wanted to do the interview, then lets her anger run free during the broadcast. She lives in Australia because her family wants to marry her off.

After some misunderstandings, arguments and a lot of persuasion, the two fall in love and move in together. On the one hand, Nick may not be the type to marry, but on the other hand, most of the time you end up in a relationship when you're too busy not thinking about it.

But Ambar becomes pregnant and Nikhil hates children. Nick doesn't want children and takes Ambar to the hospital for an abortion . When Ambar sees another woman's baby during an ultrasound scan and hears the heartbeat, she is unable to abort the baby. After this decision, the two quarrel and avoid each other from now on. Ambar has a rare disease and is afraid the baby may be sick too, so she asks Nick to do a blood test. At first he contradicts her because he is afraid of hospitals, but then he overcomes his fear and goes to this examination. The doctor gives Nikhil a DVD with the ultrasound examination. Nick watches the DVD and starts to look forward to it.

Ambar's best friend is about to get married and asks her advice. But Nick thinks that Ambar wants to marry her best friend. Ambar and Nick argue and she wants to move out. When he wakes up with a hangover next to a strange woman, both draw the most obvious conclusion. She runs away. Only then does the strange woman explain that nothing has happened and that he only talked about Ambar. Since Nikhil has fallen in love with Ambar, he asks the radio station and listeners for help. He describes what Ambar looks like and what she is wearing and asks the audience to call him when they see her. Nick finds Ambar and she goes into her first labor. When the two arrive at the hospital, things are turbulent, firstly because there is no single room available and secondly, the doctor has no idea about his job and a blood phobia. In the end, Nikhil Ambar proposes marriage. After a moment's hesitation, she said yes.

background
