Culture and sights
- The current Catholic chapel of St. Johannes Evangelist replaced the previous chapel that had been demolished in 1863/64.
- Another attraction at Hockeln was the last manned railway keeper's house in northern Germany until September 12, 2014 at 1 p.m. , which can be seen in the northeast of the village on the Hildesheim – Goslar railway line . The barriers were operated to this day by hand, which was replaced by an automatic system. The Hockeln stop was also located here, where local trains to and from Hildesheim stopped several times a day and which was abandoned in 1987.
- In the south of the village, a stone cross from 1833 is noteworthy.
- Several well-preserved half-timbered houses can be seen in the town center.
