politics

Culture and sights
- In the middle of the village, the small Catholic St. Bernward Chapel is noteworthy. It is consecrated to St. Bernward , one of the most important bishops of Hildesheim. Its slate-clad gable rider with his pointed helmet can be seen from afar. Immediately to the right and left are a residential house and another building, which is very unusual for village development in northern Germany. It is not known to this day whether Klein Düngen ever had a church, because nothing about this is recorded in the documents available. The foundations of the St. Bernward Chapel may date from the 13th century. Originally it was called "Chapel Mariae Visitation". It is a Gothic building made of rubble stones with corner blocks. The entrance was originally on the south side, but was later moved to the west side of the chapel. Here is a portal with a pointed arch typical of the Gothic period. The year 1613 can be read over a rectangular window on the north side of the chapel, possibly referring to a renovation. In 1701 the chapel was renewed. There are six loopholes in the relatively thick walls of the chapel, which suggests that it may have served as a fortified church. Further renovations took place in 1954/55, 1978, 1986 and 1993. Inside the chapel, which has around 40 seats, is u. a. a statue of St. Bernward noteworthy, who holds the Bernward cross in his hand . Several of the strikingly small windows in the chapel are still easily recognizable today as earlier loopholes. From 1940 on, the chapel at Kreuzstrasse 11 belonged to the parish of St. Cosmas and Damian in Groß Düngen, and since November 1, 2014 it has belonged to the parish of St. Gallus in Detfurth.
- Also noteworthy on the main street is a stone cross from 1853 with an inscription carved in stone.
- Numerous well-preserved half-timbered houses are worth seeing in the center of Klein Düngens.
Economy and Infrastructure
The Lammetalbahn runs through the middle of Klein Düngen , but the place has no train station or stop. The next train station is about 2 km away in Groß Düngen. On the western edge of Klein Düngen, the federal road 243 leads from Hildesheim to Seesen .
