Heinde is a district of the city of Bad Salzdetfurth in Lower Saxony . The village lies on the Innerste River .

history

The place name is derived from the earlier names Henithi and later Henede . Place names of the -ithi group appeared in the second century AD. The first written mention of the place can be found on a Hildesheim deed of donation from 1146, in which Bishop Bernward von Hildesheim gave the Godehardikloster two Hufen land near "Henede". Knight Templar Aschwin von Wallmoden received in 1307, after the dissolution of the Templar order by Pope Clement V , the rule of Heinde as a fiefdom of the Hildesheim bishop. In 1568 the Reformation was introduced in Heinde .

The Prussian state reformer Freiherr vom Stein married Wilhelmine von Wallmoden-Gimborn, a wife, in the Heinder Church on June 8, 1793. A memorial plaque next to the church commemorates the marriage. In 1883 the manor was inherited by the Counts of Kielmannsegg , as was the neighboring manor of Walshausen in 1897 .

At the beginning of the 20th century, Heinde had 583 inhabitants and had a dairy and a brick factory.

On March 1, 1974, Heinde was incorporated into the city of Bad Salzdetfurth.

Culture and sights

  • The Romanesque tower of the church, built on a hill, still has loopholes, which indicates that the church was originally a fortified church. The nave with its wooden barrel vault was built in 1712-16, in it the baroque pulpit altar from 1717 and some paintings stand out. The organ from 1858 is located above the altar. The church is surrounded by several striking old trees, one of which - a copper beech - was planted in 1896 on the 350th anniversary of Martin Luther's death.
  • The rectory built in 1616.
  • Baroque manor house (1781) of the Counts of Kielmannsegg
  • Old prison, built around 1700 from sandstone with a tent roof . Its area is only 9 m² and the only window is 2.4 m high, while the floor is 80 cm lower.
  • Water gate in the wall at the cemetery. This is possibly the remains of the surrounding wall of a tower hill castle with a curtain wall.
  • Heinder Mühle, an example of industrial architecture in a charming landscape. A mill already existed here in 1465, the current structure was built in 1881. After the mill was closed in 1957, the building was converted into a residential area.
  • Gut Walshausen (realized by Georg Ludwig Friedrich Laves )
  • Lindenallee to Listringen , which Karl Graf von Wallmoden (1793–1883) had laid out. A memorial for those who died in the two world wars was erected on it. The course of the avenue corresponds to the Kirchweg - the shortest connection - from and to Listringen. It comes from a time when Listringen did not yet have its own church.
