Hofs is a district of the large district town of Leutkirch in the Allgäu in the Ravensburg district .

history

Hofs appears in a first document on the occasion of a sale in 1359. Otto von Waldburg sells the village to the Weingarten imperial abbey . In 1802 the monastery and the village of Hofs became the property of Nassau-Orange , in 1804 Austrian, it became the Kingdom of Bavaria in 1806 and the Kingdom of Württemberg in 1810 . In 1938 the community became part of the district of Wangen .

The place is in the east of the city of Leutkirch. Over half of the district boundary of Hofs is identical to the state border with Bavaria . Hofs has a town hall, kindergarten and community center. The primary school with a gym and fire station is located in Ausnang, just five hundred meters south of Hofs. The community hall is located in the Gasthaus Adler.

The Hofs subsidiary church is dedicated to Saints Gallus and Magnus . The ecclesiastical community is part of the Allgäu-Oberschwaben deanery in the Rottenburg-Stuttgart diocese .

On January 1, 1972, Hofs was incorporated into the city of Leutkirch.
