Hog Island is a small uninhabited island in the Fox Islands , part of the Aleutian Islands . The island is located in a bay on the north coast of Unalaska . In 1852, Hog was first recorded in the nautical charts as Oknodok Island by Michail Tebenkow . The name Pig Island (Hog = pig) comes from the domestic animals that Russian sailors have set free here.
