history
The Alm originally belonged to the Tegernsee Monastery and was first mentioned in a document in 1529. Most recently, the Holzeralm was farmed together with the Winneralm located to the south-east, whose grazing ended as early as 1946. In 1965, the digging also ended on the Holzeralm.
One of the original five alpine huts was still preserved, this was demolished in 2018 and a new building was approved, the last of the other huts had already fallen into disrepair in 1950.
