from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Honke Rambow (born August 15, 1968 in Wiesbaden ) is a German writer, publicist and musician who became known primarily for electronic music in the border area between techno and serious music.

Career

In the mid-1990s he published together with Norbert Vossiek under the project names Error 129 , Riemke Markt and Di'plinx records. The two musicians caused a stir because they were the first Germans to be signed to Richie Hawtin's label Plus 8 / Probe and Fred Giannelli's label Telepathic Records . Around 2000 the duo broke up. Honke Rambow turned more clearly to acoustic art. One of the last joint releases as Di'plinx appeared on the Kassel label Hör-Spiel-Musik. The radio play Morphtekture contained on it shows the direction in which Honke Rambow's work was developing. The sound installation Technical Nature , which Rambow realized in 1998 as part of the International Building Exhibition Emscher Park in the Schalthaus Rheinelbe in Gelsenkirchen, is to be fully attributed to the visual arts . In 2006 Honke Rambow took part in the international media art project "Audio Relay" curated by Rosanne Altstatt in Lafayette. At that time, Rambow worked several times with the British architect Ian Ritchie . In addition to his artistic activity, Honke Rambow emerged as a publicist and mainly deals with the relationships between music and other arts. In 2011 Honke Rambow also made her debut as a playwright and director with the play “Loges Plan”, which premiered in Bochum at the Rottstrasse 5 Theater and was invited to the NRW Theatertreffen in 2012. In 2014 Rambow was invited to present “Loges Plan” as a room installation at the “1st NSK Folk Art Biennale” in Leipzig. Further directorial work by Honke Rambow: "Wow, Toll - Heidi und die Chicas" based on Gregor Weichbrodt and Grischa Stanjek (2012), "Love Letters" based on Albert Ramsdell Gurney (2012). On December 7th, 2012 Honke Rambow took part in the Moers premiere of “Poeme symphonique” by György Ligeti . Honke Rambow has held a teaching position at the Ruhr University Bochum since 2012 .
