Horst-Günther Güttner

Horst-Günther Güttner (born March 4, 1912 in Kolmar i. Posen , † July 11, 1983 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a German pathologist.

Life

Güttner attended high school in Friedeberg (Neumark) . After graduating from high school, he studied medicine from 1930 at the Prussian University of Greifswald , the University of Rostock , the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich , the University of Hamburg and the Friedrichs University in Halle (not yet renamed after Luther) . In 1932 he became active in the Corps Borussia Halle with Günther Jaenicke . In 1935 he passed the state examination in Halle. From 1936 to 1938 he was a volunteer assistant at the municipal hospital in Landsberg an der Warthe and at the gynecological clinic of the Eppendorf University Hospital . In 1938 he was promoted to Dr. med. PhD. In the same year he moved to the pathological institute at the University of Greifswald. As a senior physician, he received a teaching position for general and special pathology in 1942. With studies on the question of occurrence of acute general miliary habilitation he 1943. 1946 he took over in Dresden the management of the pathological institute from the hospital Johannstadt that in 1954 in the Medical Academy "Carl Gustav Carus" was integrated. From 1956 to 1960 he was rector and medical director of the academy. In 1961 he moved to the Heinrich Braun Hospital in Zwickau . In 1970 he went to Aue (Saxony) for the last seven years of his professional life .
